So, basically, Northwestern is amazing. Granted, it took 7 1/2 hours to drive there, but still, amazing. Evanston is a cool city,  at least the part we were in. My hotel was three blocks from the campus and right in the middle of all sorts of neat restaurants and stores. The campus is basically on the water. I'm really feeling Northwestern all of a sudden.  It's has a real linguistics program and is in Evanston, Illinois. Which, granted, definitely isn't Chicago, but it's only 13 miles away.
